When you host your wedding at The Mitchell House, the entire property is yours for the duration of your rental. You receive private access to the 1921 historic home, ceremony lawn, veranda & garden spaces, reception grounds, and all approved photo locations. Your guests enjoy a seamless, intimate celebration with no public overlap or shared spaces.

Included with all ceremony packages (up to 150 guests): beautiful outdoor ceremony lawn, guest seating (if included — confirm), natural Southern backdrop for vows, easy guest flow to cocktail hour, and indoor and covered ceremony backup options. We will set the ceremony area to your specifications and coordinate timing with your vendors.

Your reception includes (up to 250 guests) a spacious outdoor reception grounds, customizable layout options, multiple settings for dining, dancing, and entertainment, and house exterior lighting for evening ambiance. This flexibility allows you to design a celebration that matches your style — elegant dinner, lively dancing, or a mix of both.

The Mitchell House features beautifully restored dressing suites with natural light for photography, comfortable seating for your wedding party, mirrors & prep space for hair and makeup, access to interior rooms for portraits, and vintage charm blended with modern comfort. These suites support a relaxed, joyful beginning to your day.

Your rental includes full access to the most romantic, photogenic parts of the property, including the grand staircase, historic porches, garden pavilion, house façades, ceremony lawn at golden hour, and reception grounds. Couples often say the estate feels like a built-in photo set — elegant from every angle.

You may choose any licensed and insured vendors, including caterers, photographers and videographers, planners, DJs, bands, musicians, florists, bartending services, and specialty vendors (ice cream, food trucks, etc.). Your vendors receive full access to the property and a clear communication channel with our team for setup and planning.

The Mitchell House offers a generous bar policy. Couples may provide their own alcohol. (A licensed & insured bartender is required and all service must comply with South Carolina law. No self-service is permitted.) This gives you both cost control and complete customization of your bar menu.

Your rental includes on-site parking for guests, clear signage or attendants (if you choose to provide them), and convenient drop-off area for elderly or mobility-sensitive guests. The arrival flow is smooth and intuitive — guests immediately feel welcomed.

Your wedding day includes a dedicated venue representative who oversees access & property logistics, coordinates with vendors, ensures rules are followed, supports timeline transitions, and manages lighting, access points, and facility needs This is not a planner — but essential support that keeps the day running smoothly.

Also included is access to power sources for entertainment, trash disposal, restroom access, setup & teardown guidelines for vendors, and outdoor lighting features.
